You have a book that's been living in your body for years. A voice you keep talking yourself out of using. A way of seeing that's only yours — and you keep almost giving it to us.
Or maybe it's a film. Or an album, a film, a podcast, a dream business only you can build.
I help you stop almost.
You know how you have the file open on your desktop — and you keep rereading the same three paragraphs instead of writing the next one?
You know how you can talk about your book, your show, your business to your bestie for hours— but the moment you sit down to actually make it, you go blank?
You know how you've told yourself "when things calm down” for approximately a zillion years?
That's not a discipline problem. That's where the real work actually starts.
Because here’s the truth, love:
No one else can give what you have. And it doesn't come from fixing yourself first, or waiting until every piece is finally in place.
It comes from claiming the parts of you you've been managing, softening, or shrinking — on the page and off it.
It comes from knowing you don’t need to earn your deserving, to wait until you’ve paid your dues, or the stars align.
I'll help you say the sentence you've been biting your tongue on.
Find the voice you've been hiding under "polished."
Get the thing out of your body and into the world — in a form other people can actually hold. A finished draft. A published piece. A business that exists outside your head.
Not someday. This season.
"Marisa, thank you for bringing my writing out of me and into The New York Times!" — Jessica Zitter MD, author of Extreme Measures
APPLY FOR YOUR COMPLIMENTARY BREAKTHROUGH SESSION
(valued at $300)
Here's what happens in the session:
● We get concrete about the vision you're ready to build — the real one, not the Pinterest version.
● We find the exact place you're stuck, and look at it together, with kindness.
● You leave knowing your next move, not just feeling inspired for an afternoon.
If it's a fit, I'll tell you exactly what working together looks like. No pressure, no persuasion.
YASSS! I’M READY TO UNLEASH MY GENIUS
Because lovies, lemme tell you:
This is not separate from the rest of your life.
When you stop editing yourself in your work, you stop editing yourself everywhere else too.
Folks I’ve worked with have gone from hovering over publish to actually hitting it. From a folder of half-finished drafts to a six-figure book deal. From mumbling out what they do at parties to saying it like they mean it.
My clients have written bestselling books, received awards, landed top literary agents, earned six-figure advances with major New York publishing houses, directed prize-winning films, started businesses and nonprofits, and been featured in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and Wired.
"She helped me get through career burnout and transition into starting my own company. I'm the CEO of a startup today." — Jessica Ko, co-founder & CEO, Playbook
"It shifted barriers in other realms of my life too, not just my creativity. I feel a deep sense of relief to be back on the path of creativity and self." — Sara Gavryck, visual artist & writer

This isn't a mindset shift you can think your way into.
Because the block was never just intellectual — it lives in your body, your nervous system, the patterns you learned long before you picked up a pen or opened a business plan.
So that's where we actually work: nervous system, body, mind, heart, spirit. Root to crown, all parts on board.
Clients have called it soul retrieval. Magic. Life-changing.
Or simply finally-fucking-doing-the-thing.
Here’s how it works:
We get specific about what you're building — not the dreamy future version, the one you’re actually making right now → Result: you leave every session knowing exactly what you're doing next, not just how you feel about it.
We find the exact place you go quiet — the line you delete before anyone sees it, the send button you don't press — and look at it together, with love, and the best effing tools I’ve got. → Result: the block loses its grip, you feel a new sense of freedom, and the creative juices start a-flowing!
We work with your whole system, not just your thoughts — the tightness in your chest when you meet the blank page, the old story your body still believes even after you’ve moved on. → Result: the shift holds. You're not white-knuckling new behavior — you're operating from new wiring.
Twenty-five years making the work. Twenty years teaching it. Fifteen years coaching people through it. I'll hand you tangible next steps, not vague encouragement. This is grounded in what's actually worked for hundreds of writers and creatives, including yours truly. → Result: you stop guessing at "the right process" and start using one that's already proven.
"I just signed with a prestigious agent, and I'm on my way to fulfilling a longstanding dream. Yes, I too am now a writer!" — Shari Levitin, author of the bestselling Heart and Sell
“Marisa is a true writer's muse." — Kris Newby, award-winning author of Bitten
"Thanks to Marisa I started writing again after almost a decade." — Lara Williams, writer

I'm Marisa. I did all the right things.
Picture this: I'm in Varanasi, India. It’s monsoon season, 95 degrees, humidity at 98%. I step into an alleyway barely wider than my own outstretched arms — and a cow is running straight at me, ten feet away and closing. I hadn't slept in days. My instincts were offline. I froze.
I got out of the cow's way just in time, but I did not get out of the way of a full-blown breakdown. Even with an award-winning memoir, a degree from the best writing program in the country, and a Fulbright to prove my life was together.
For almost three years after, I couldn't create. Just… crickets.
The turning point came when I finally gave myself permission to stop fighting. Let go, I heard. You’re not in control here.
What I found on the other side wasn't the old way, forced back into shape. It was a different way — grounded in surrender instead of grinding, in receiving instead of extracting. A poem I wrote from that place won a prize. The novel I'd nearly given up on found its shape and landed my dream agent.
That's key to the shift I now teach. Not "find your creative flow" — stop bullying your creativity into performing, and learn how to receive it instead. It's the same mind-body-spirit-nervous-system work I do with clients now, because it's the only version of this I've ever known to actually hold.
"Her process feels guided by something bigger. I sensed that I had undergone a magical process with Marisa." — Kele Boakgomo, founder of Yugrow
"Marisa has a gift for accessing the spirit, the interior heart of both the artist and their art. Time with Marisa is a meaningful journey for your work and your soul." — Ciara Fanlo, contributor to The Guardian & founder of Homing Instinct
You weren't born to keep almost — to hit save instead of publish, to write the true sentence and then delete it, to leave your gift sitting in the drawer.
You were born to give it. Period.
